WHAT WE DESIGN
Custom Homes
We start with a site visit to explore the opportunities that your piece of land has to offer, the views, the sun angles, any site or council constraints etc. Then combined with your brief for what you would like to achieve in your home we will come up with a concept plan for you to look at. We then begin the process of amending as required to get your concept plans just right.
Then once you’re happy with the plans we activate the preliminary design stage where the plans are then turned into construction drawings ready for the engineers, energy raters and builders. Once they have done their bit we finalize the plans ready for the builder of your choice. Any planning permits or bushfire attack level reports that may be required will be sorted out within this process; we will liaise with the relevant authorities to help you through any planning requirements. Once your plans are ready we release them to you and the builder of your choice to begin building your custom home.
Extensions to Existing Homes
Extensions are a great way to add value to your existing home or simply create better spaces to accommodate a growing and changing family life. We begin by visiting your home and meeting with you to find out all the things you like and don’t like and how you like to live. We will do an extensive measure up of your existing house and land, and then along with your brief we will design a custom extension that fulfills that brief. We then have meetings to talk through the design and alter anything that requires changing. With your budget in mind we will design to the best of our ability so that we present you something that is both achievable and amazing.

Landscape Design
A home is made complete with a great Landscape surrounding it. It is our belief at SILO that living a life surrounded by nature is not only healthy but increases a sense of wellbeing and happiness.
Biophilic design is basically a fancy way of saying a home that integrates an indoor/outdoor lifestyle. Creating a healthy symbiosis between living zones and nature and surrounding those zones and spaces with greenery to achieve your own personal sanctuary and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Therefore if you’d like us to incorporate a landscape design into your plans or just come up with a design for your existing home we would be more than happy to do so. We will come to your site or existing home and talk through what you’d like to achieve in your landscape. How much of a green thumb you are or whether you’d like something very low maintenance but still look and feel amazing.
We will draw up a site plan with the landscape design and notate all the plants, trees and structures so that its an easy visual and itemized list of what to purchase, plant or build. Or you can simply give the plans to a landscape technician to do it all for you. We can take care of swimming pool design, ponds, rills, outdoor pool houses and pergolas whatever you wish to be integrated into your plan to achieve an amazing outdoor experience.
Commercial Buildings
At SILO we can design your new custom Commercial building including the interior fit outs or take care of designing the redevelopment of an existing commercial space to suit your needs.
We have had experience with health care Centre’s, aged care Centre’s, active learning spaces, shop fit outs and repurposing of existing spaces for change of use. For example repurposing an existing house into a doctor’s surgery. We will follow all relevant council planning requirements and ensure the process goes as smoothly as possible.
We can also take care of drawing up an Access & Egress plan as well as Fires safety exit plans that you may require for your existing commercial property.
